Whether you are a novice, intermediate or an advanced player, Jan can create a learning curriculum to custom fit the style of music you'd like to play. For instance, if you want to pursue finger picking techniques, enhance your strumming, write your own tunes, expand your repertoire or just smooth out your playing to make it more enjoyable, Jan can offer suggestions and instruction to help you reach your goal.

Jan also teaches at festivals, workshops and events across the country as well as giving private lessons locally. She has presented at the Buckeye Dulcimer Festival, Dulcimore, Southeast Ohio Dulcimer Festival, Kent State Folk Festival, Phoenix (AZ) Folk Festival, Ohio Valley Gathering, Kentucky Winter Dulcimer Weekend, The Swannanoa Gathering, Harmony Harvest, Spring Thaw Fling Dulcimer Gathering, Coshocton Dulcimer Days, Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, Southern Appalachian Dulcimer Association Festival, and Melodies & Musings in Guntersville, Alabama. Jan has also produced three books of tablature for the mountain dulcimer which include everything from originals songs to familiar hymns and waltzes.
